How Do I Sign In?
A step-by-step guide for parents, the first time
Creating your account
You only do this once. It takes about five minutes.
- Go to margin.delightandsavor.com and click Create your account.
- Choose I’m a parent, enter your name, email, and a password, then click Create parent account.
- Check your email for a confirmation link and click it.
Don’t see it after a minute or two? Check your spam or promotions folder — that’s the most common place it hides.
- Go back to the site and sign in with the email and password you just chose.
Adding your child and your class code
Signing in the first time takes you here automatically.
- Under Your students, click Add another student and enter your child’s name.
- Under Add another course, type in the class code your teacher gave you.
This code goes on this site — not in Google Classroom. Google Classroom is a separate step your child uses later, to turn in their work.
- Check the box next to your child’s name, then click Add course to selected students.
That checkbox is easy to miss — if you skip it, the class code alone won’t add the course. Check the box first, then click the button.
- Click Done — go to my courses. You’re in.
If your child wants their own login (separate from yours), come back to this page after step 4 above — you’ll see a Connect student login option next to their name. That sends them a link to make their own sign-in, still tied to the same profile and progress.
Joining our Google Classroom
A separate, second sign-in — this is where finished work gets turned in, not where the course lives.
- Click the Google Classroom link your teacher gave you (it’s also on the course website, on the Turn It In button each week).
- Sign in with the Google account your child uses for school — not the email and password you just created on this site.
These are two separate accounts on two separate sites, on purpose: this website holds the course itself; Google Classroom is only where finished work gets handed in.
- If Google asks, click Join to join the class. Some links join automatically.
- Didn’t get the confirmation email?
- Check Spam, Promotions, and Updates. If you requested more than one, click the link in the newest email only. If the link opens inside your email app and doesn’t work, copy it into Safari or Chrome.
- Signed up as a student by mistake?
- Parents create the account first. Go back to margin.delightandsavor.com, click Create your account, and choose I’m a parent.
- Already made an account but can’t get in?
- Don’t create a second one. Sign in at margin.delightandsavor.com with the same email, or use Forgot password.
- Signed in but don’t see the course?
- Most likely the checkbox — see step 3 above. Go back to Family & Courses, check the box next to your child’s name, and click Add course to selected students again.
- Class code not working?
- Check for extra spaces and make sure it’s typed exactly as I sent it. If it still won’t take, message me.
- Google Classroom says “class not found”?
- This almost always means the Google account that’s signed in doesn’t have permission yet, not that the link is wrong. Message me with the exact Google account (email) your child is using, and I’ll sort out the permission on my end.
